Chok Chin You

Chok Chin You obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Malaya in 1985. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1986.
In 1987-1988, he pursued his Master of Laws course at the London School of Economics and Political Science on a British scholarship. Upon the completion of that course, he obtained a Master of Laws degree from the University of London in 1989.
From the time he commenced his practice as a lawyer in 1989, his practice has always been in civil litigation and counsel work. |

| He has argued cases in the Federal Court, Supreme Court (the predecessor of the Federal Court), Court of Appeal, High Court, Sessions Court, Magistrates’ Court, Industrial Court and Labour Court (or what is more correctly referred to as an inquiry under s.69 of the Employment Act 1955). Some of the cases in which he has appeared as counsel are reported in the law journals. |

| Apart from appearing as counsel in court, he has also represented clients in disciplinary proceedings at the Malaysian Medical Council and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. |

| His fields of practice include general civil litigation, judicial review, industrial dispute, employment law and practice, and disciplinary proceeding by professional body. |
